the sheep is the invisible hand of post war Japan’s economy. it migrates to mainland Japan, builds a network that runs the country behind the scenes, and drops and discards every individual it uses along the way. MC’s involvement in the greater sheep narrative really is all but useless, don’t think he made anything happen ever, but that’s kinda the point too, the powerlessness of man, things proceed as they will regardless of the best laid plans of sheep and men.
